Time to update my profile, I've come a long way in a few months. and Dude, it's still true I am still real laid back
- not in a comma laid back, but pretty darn close. My problem with fear agression
is just about all gone now and I can't even remember the last time I tinkled because I was afraid or overly excited
Mommy takes me to work with her
and I get to chase squirells
and an occasional rabbit
and geese
and sometimes ..... deer.
but they're a lot bigger than me, so I back down r-e-a-l quick. I get to run around like the redheaded maniac that I am
and jump over walls and creeks. I am especially fond of burying my bone-bone
in the garden. Mom isn't real happy when she sees mulch up my nose
I have two new favorite treats .....
and .... Banana Chips ..... YUM. The doggy DNA breed ID test results came back, Guess What !?!? I have 3 identifiable breeds in me: Beagle
, German Shephard
, and Labrador Retriever !
whoda thunk !?!? ... but ... I STILL know that I am a beautiful redhead
... and ... I am a good, Good,
Very Good dog
practically perfect, if you ask me.

HI Curly!
Rocky here.
We know your pain! We don't like it either but if we don't get it, somehow my stomach doesn't take it well. There's two types of raw diets. One is just pure meat called Primal Diet, and others all a BARF diet (meat, veggies, fruits). In the Primal Diet, it is recommended that you have veggies and fruits. Olivia can do good in a Primal Diet and in a BARF diet too. I can't do a Primal Diet. I have to have variety. Nature's Variety thought of this. You know that they do? They mix it in with the raw meat and then you HAVE to eat it. They do a pretty good job because that's the only way would even touch it. When leader tries mixing them in, we spit out the rest and just ate the meat. We love carrots and potatoes because of the crunch.
Go to this store and check out some of raw diets too. Of course you don't have to buy from there but just to give you an idea of some brands out there.
You know what happened last time we bought our raw food, the manager gave mom extra meat just for us, for free! He only gives it to the raw feeders and to those eating EVO, NV, Orijen or some simlar to those.
THANK YOU FOR THE GIFT! WE LOVED OUR RAW CRAB
Much love from Rocky, Olivia, Panchita and our leader! Here to help our friend RED.

Hi Curly....Mom’s lock-in is over! She says she’s wore slap dab out….(that’s Tennessee for tired). She can’t seem to get caught up on her sleep. She says she’s getting way to old for that (and please don’t tell her we said so but she is WAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYY OLD!). She also posted a new blog for everyone to tell what they are thankful for and she in our Thanksgiving Feast blog she has put in foods that were probably part of the very first Thanksgiving (oh and she added a boring history lesson too). So please stop by and check those out! We just wanted to say hi today and show off our new clothes. Our Aunt Melissa sent me a shirt and Sable and new bandana. They are the Arkansas Razorbacks. Daddy’s Favorite College Team. See he is from Arkansas. He says he’s a HOG (that’s what they call themselves too)..but mom says being a Razorback doesn’t make him a HOG…it’s other stuff. He HOGS the covers…He HOGS chips…He HOGS the bathroom…(no really he has a bathroom that is done in Razorback stuff). He HOGS everything. She says we must take after him. So now we're gonna "call the Hogs" for you
WOOOOOOOOOOOO PIG SOOOOOOOOOIE RAZORBACKS!

Hi Curly, again,
I just realized you said pork chops. Like I said, you have not just include meat only in your diet. You have to do right proportions such as fruits, veggies, and meat. The biggest should be meat. Here's something I found on the net for you to help you out. All those things that they mention for veggies and fruits are also included in the BARF World website.
"My next selection of raw meat was pork chops. Pork chop bones were much easier for my toy poodle to munch on, but I found that it gave her terrible indigestion. About that time, I found some friends who were also feeding raw food to their animals, and they have some suggestions for me about the indigestion. First, I shouldn't feed just raw meat. I needed to include raw fruits and vegetables. The only raw fruits and vegetables I shouldn't include were onions, lots of garlic, and grapes. They also suggested that I include a probiotic, a digestive enzyme, and a source of the omega 3, 6, and 9 oils. As soon as I got those into my dogs' system, all traces of indigestion went away."

Hi Curly!
Rocky here.
Well, curly, it is included in the raw diet but if your leader is not comfortable with the pork, then it's fine. There's other tons of meat you could eat. Our mom doesn't let us eat pork. Reasons at to we don't know why. She refuses and leader has say fine! Some raw feeders will tell you no, and some will tell you yes. It really is up to your taste and preference. I don't like eating raw chicken, even though it's very important part of a raw diet. I'll eat other types of meat, but forget it, chicken is not one of them. As for the bacteria thing, we dogs can handle that stuff. Humans can't so they think we can't.
I do suggest your leader first try Nature's Variety Raw Diet or Primal Pet Foods. Try finding places that sell Nature's Variety locally. They'll be in the freezer and while your at it, you could check out some other raw diets there too. See, the reason I tell you this is because even though feeding raw food is awesome(!), as many will tell you, there is A LOT of research involved and right proportions have to be fed. While you eat this, your leader can do lots of reseach and even go to the BARF WORLD website under BARF DIET Specifics, and they'll give you a list of what to feed. (We love carrots!) Once your leader is prepared, your leader can make the transition to real raw diet and your transition will be way easier because you have been practicing eating the right proportions and actually trying the stuff.
Look, check out this page for a sample of a raw diet for adult dogs. You could try going to the
D O G S T E R . C O M (seperate spaces and lower caps because MDS doesn't let us post the name for some reason.) There you will find a group of raw feeders who can help you too. There is even a section just for raw feeders which you could look at. You will they even us EVO, Nature's Variety, and Orijen as well.
Some raw feeders use yogurt to get the process going in the food because some can be stubborn. Yogurt is actually good for many things, to help with the stomach and even yeast infection. EARTHCLINIC.com tell you about yogurt for dogs. It's a website for remedies. Also, a raw diet is recommended for health issues in that website.
Let us know how your doing, Curly. We really do care about what's going our new friend. We can tell you that before Panchita got vaccinated, she was very weak and skinny, so for a quick replacement, we gave her a raw diet and she's a very healthy dog now. By the time she got her shots, she was a pretty healthy dog. A raw diet helps with boosting the immune system. Did you know that longest living dog didn't eat kibble. There was no kibble back in those days! Something to think about.
Much love from Rocky, Olivia, Panchita, and our leader!

Hi Curly!
We are so glad to hear about your new change. Just take it easy. Your body is going through some changes. Good ones that is. Well, then again, I think your new change went well so no need to worry. Do good proportions and you will be just fine. If your leader read about the raw diet, you see that yogurt is not that bad for you. It's pretty good actually. We are not fed lamb and rice anymore. Yeah, about the gas thing, your eating healthier so not so much gas. Also, you poop less and if you see that gooey stuff in in, that's healthy. I think it has to do that your anal glands express on their own because you are pooping healthier. Did you like the bones? Me Olivia LOVE the bones, and Panchita. Rocky can't just admit to eating a chicken thighs or necks yet. He's not much of a chicken lover. He likes other types. Nature's Variety raw diet is good when you are in a hurry and can't prepare a raw diet or if you got a big pack. EVO is pretty awesome! Keep us updated.
Much love from Rocky, Olivia, Panchita and our leader!

Hi Curly! We are back and trying to catch up! Whew! We’ve had a busy couple of weeks and still more to come. We’ve missed several days on our calendar so mom is catching up on all of them plus we’re gonna get a few days ahead because mom’s gonna be busy this week too! She’s got a lock-in at church this Friday with the youth and she’s shopping and planning games and prizes and stuff for them to do! Don’t forget to keep an eye out for our Thanksgiving Fun blog! Mom’s gonna start doing stuff this week! She won’t even tell us what we’re doing…she said it’s only fair that we find out when everybody else does.
So Happy Basketball Day
Here’s a Bear Hug for you!
And here’s a Harvey Wallbanger…mom says they should be called Chi-Chi wallbangers since I run into the walls a lot…she is soooooooooooo NOT funny!
We made cupcakes for ebbypawdy and they are vanilla so we can have them!
Happy Veteran’s Day! Mom says we should all take time out to honor our veteran’s who have fought for our freedoms!
Thursday is World Kindness Day…we think if ebbypawdy showed just a little more kindness each and every day the world would be a lot better place!
Saturday is Clean out the Fridge Day….oh boy oh boy are we really into this one! Look we cleaned it out! It’s also the great American Smokeout…mom says that’s a hard day for her but she’s gonna try!
Sunday is Fast Food Day…oh boy another Good one…look at all this food! We’ll have onion rings from Burger King…Brown Bag Special from Sonic…A DQ Blizzard from Dairy Queen…Cheeseburger from McDonalds…A Burrito from Taco Bell…Chicken Nuggets from Wendy’s…and….oh I think we’re starting to get full!

And finally some homemade bread for next Monday. That should get us all caught up and ahead a little since Mom’s so busy. Plus The 18th is when Sable has her surgery to remove all the warts that she has. So maybe after that mom will be able to bark some more!
We love you guys! Sable and Chi
