Filled in dog Profiles

Mom sat down tonight and filled in profiles on the Miniature Schnauzers she had in her "last life". Nicky, Molly and Phoebe and how they found new homes through a Miniature Schauzer Rescue Society, in PA. They were placed in nice homes thanks to their foster mother. Thank God for Rescue Societys. Mom loved all the 4 legged children she had.

Vacation

Hello Everyone,

We had a very interesting week off. My Mommy had a week off from her work....so she was with Dad and I all week, and did not have to ever leave us. We started out the week in the car, going to a place Mom calls Maine. We are about 3 1/2 hours from where we were going. It was a long ride. I get to ride in that cool seat, I told you about in an earlier blog. I had to ride in the back, as Mom and Dad sat in the front.

When we got to where we were going, I got to see some of Mom's friends and family. Everyone wanted to say hi to me. We slept in a building, with many many rooms, and mom said while we were there she saw a Yorkie and 3 other dachshunds.  The second day, Mom and Dad had a man with a contraption, point it at them and say "Smile". I thought this was very silly, as they know how to smile, and before I knew it I was getting the contraption pointed at me TOO!!!! We all survived the dreaded contraption and off we went, to the destination.

We spent most of our days away, at this place Mom & Dad called a cabin. There were lots, and lots,of big trees....too bad I can't climb them! There was also this thing I could see myself in!!! It was big. I spent hours checking out all the nooks and crannys of the cabin..couple of times I showed up with Mom and Dad, with this thin whispy stuff stuck to my nose. I don't know what cobwebs are, but Mom said I had been into them. Once I was fully convinced that we were all safe in this place, I found a place I could lay, that I could see 2 of the 4 sides of the cabin, outside, so I could keep a look out and protect us all.  Mom took a couple of pictures of me on look out that I am sure she will put into the album soon.

The time we were away, we ended up spending a lot of time in the car. There was water coming from the sky, Mom said 7 of the 10 days we were there. So we traveled a lot of Maine.  We even traveled over to NH, as Mom and Dad said, and they said something about a trip up a mountain....what ever that is. I do know the car tipped down in back for quite some time, and then later it tipped down in the front.  Between the two trips we had alot of noise, with water hitting the outside of the car. They said something about Mount Washington.

During all these car trips, Mom and Dad kept saying how great a traveler I am. I just know I am happiest when I am with them both.

One morning, before the water started falling from the sky, Mom put me in this banana shaped thing, and she had something that looked like a spoon, and kept putting it into the thing I could see myself in. It looked so cool....but I am so short I would hardly see myself. I tried to get where I would see myself, and the next thing I knew I was soaked. I am thankful Mom thought to put me on a saftey cord.  I was not detered as I was determined to see myself, I tried once again and found myself completely under water...Mom reeled me in again, and I decided I was not to thrilled to have water up my nose and in my ear

The last full day, before we had to leave, Mom and Dad blew up these things, that looked like big balls with holes in them. They both sat in them, and took turns having me sit on their laps. It was wet, but I was thrilled that I was where I could see myself, finally. That was a lot of fun. I wish we could of had less days with water coming from the sky, so we could of done that more often. I hope we don''t have to wait a long time, to spend that much time together with no work again.

Mom wanted to take me out for more walks in the trees, but she was complaining about something called mosquitos!!!!!! I don't know what her problem was, I could not see anything. I was not very hungry while I was away...and evidently Mom was concerned about me...since I have been home I have eaten every meal right away...she does not seem to understand that I need to eat it from MY bowl, not some human bowl.

And that my friends is my summer vacation essay....LOL. ROTFL (roll on the floor laughing).  Sincerely, Zoe and Mom

July 4th!

hello all,

July 4th my Mommy and Daddy will have been married 4 years!!! They say it is really cool, as everyone get the day off on their anniv. and they even set off fireworks for them. Mom & Dad are very lucky as I am not one of those dogs who gets up tight with loud noises! I am really looking forward to the vacation we are going on in July ! My Mom says she is a Maine-iac by birth and we have not been to Maine since the spring after Mom's Dad passed away, so it has been a few years. My mom & dad have rented me a cabin in Maine on a lake, so I will get time away from my own 4 walls, and I will get to watch different chimpmunks and different squirrels and birds than I do now. I have a sliding glass door at my house and I sit for hours watching all the birds and small critters. My Mom and Dad say I am such a good girl, as I just sit there quietly, while all the critters pass within 3-4" of my nose, on the other side of the screen. Ocassionally I cannot handle it any longer and I jump at the screen...but that is only when I can't handle it any longer!!!!!  Love to all, Zoe

Confusion!

Dog gone, has this been a strange weekend! The whole house is kinda upside down....I was getting concerned that we were moving, but Mom tells me that these fish that she keeps in glass boxes are moving.

She has this great tall, many sided glass box that she keeps at the end of the couch. I love to stand on the arm of the couch and try to catch the fish. I also like to look at it upside down when Mom is holding me in her arm (woof woof). She has 2 other glass boxes, one I can see across the room from the couch( 29) and one I can't see too well, on the top of a bookcase(10). Well, she was messing with these boxes all day yesterday, and I hope she continues to work on them today. We have what looks like a long glass wall(55) in the middle of our livingroom floor and it is in my way when I want to play and do Zoomies!!!!! She even had the gaul to move my basket of toys into the bedroom!!!! We only live in 3 rooms so it gets kinda tough to find places for things.

Mom says she is going to move the fish from the 10 gallon and the 29 gallon into this thing she says is a 55 gallon. Hea, I could go swimming in there...maybe she will let me before she puts fish in it ( or maybe she will even let me after she does so I can chase them gggrrrrr). It was really hot yesterday, and I hear it is going to be hot today. So we will see how my Mom does with her project. She does like her fish alot to give them a bigger home.....I know she loves me more...if I could only get her to give ME a bigger home too !!!!!!!!

On the move!!!!

Hello all,

Mom felt sad for me because my little legs are so short, and when I was in the car I could not see out the window, and she bought me a booster seat!!! Lately, while she is at work everyday, Dad is taking me out with him when he goes out. I used to spend a lot of time at home, and now I get to go go go!!!! Now when Mom takes me for a walk, and Dad is sitting in the car, I run right over to the side of the car and wait patiently for Mom to open the door so I can get in. I am really no bother in the car at all, I am usually very very quiet....I just love being with Mom and Dad, even if all I get to see of them is the back of their heads. Of course when I go out alone with Dad, I get to sit right up in the front seat with Dad. I wanna know who Mom thinks she is, that she should take MY seat when we all go out together. Yesterday when we were all out I saw a big brown dog (LAB) and I had to make sure Mom and Dad knew I was there to protect them. That is pretty much all that is new with us....but it is so exciting to get to go out with them so much! Zoe

thanks to all

Thank you to all who remembered my birthday!!! I'm just one day older afterall. My mom's daughter was up for last weekend and I had to share her!!!!! My birthday was the 24th, her daughter's birthday is the 28th (19), and Mom has a son too, and his birthday is the 1st. Yes on April Fool's Day. I am not happy with Mom today she put that darn flea and tick stuff on me today, and it irritates me so much I end up being low key all day. We recently found out I am very allergic to flea bites, so it is a necessary evil, but I don't have to like it.Yell  Well all, hope you have a great week...Zoe & Mom

Gotta start some where!!

Well, so far I am thrilled to meet so many wonderful dog lovers! It is fantastic to find yourself in a community with like minded people. Learning my way around the site, slowly. It is like baby steps. I have to make an effort soon to get the other dogs of my past into my profile. Lets see there was a mutt, a toy poodle, a mutt ( prob. Autralian shep blood but did not know it then), a yorkie, 4 miniature schnauzers and now my little doxie. There just is nothing like unconditional love!!!!
